Our Classes

Here is a brief description of the various classes we offer!

Ballet

CHILDREN'S PRIMARY through ADVANCED LEVELS

Ballet offers the benefits of poise, grace, self-assurance and a firm foundation for all forms of dance, as well as many other athletic activities, through the study of balance, strength, elevation, and elasticity. Technical exercises improve a student's ability to understand and execute classic dance performance through improved technique, musicality, quality and artistry. The BCDC faculty strongly recommends that all students register for at least one ballet class per week.

Pirouettes & Jumps

Beginning to advanced ages 8 and up.

The pirouettes and jumps class dissects these two technical movements by breaking down basic building blocks and fine tuning technique so one can master a variety of pirouettes and jumps which are used in ballet and jazz. Great emphasis will be placed on the body’s center, from which all movements begin and end, making it possible to maintain balance and control while executing turns, high extensions and powerful leaps. Spotting techniques will be studied to properly execute a variety of turns to reduce the dizzying effect of repeated rotation.

Dancers must be enrolled in two other ballet classes to take this class.

Class Placement Guidelines

Pirouettes and Jumps II: Enrolled in Ballet D
